Basement Mold
In a finished basement the water can take a while to present itself. If left unnoticed you may not know you have fungal growth until it is coming through the sheet rock. The first thing to do is stop the source of water intrusion. This may be as little as redirecting a downspout or could be as labor intensive as digging out the base of the foundation. But the bottom line is that the source of the water feeding the mold must be stopped, otherwise the mold will comeback.
Here once the repairs were made to prevent water intrusion the affected materials were removed and discarded. An Air Scrubber was put into service in the home of the client. After mitigation, Hepa-vacuuming and use of the air scrubber, post mitigation air quality tests were conducted.
